Westshore inn is a family owned and operated property just 50 metres from westshore beach (napiers only safe swimming beach), a short 5-minute drive to the downtown art deco area, napier and 1km from the west quay restaurant area. Access to link roads for all the wineries are just 150 metres down the road. Great reasons to stay are; 1-our studios and chalets are stand alone and the most private accomodation of its type. 2-there is absolutely no road noise as you find in most accomodation 3-parking is right next door to the chalets and studios 4-the two bedroom chalets are well suited to families.

Great reasons to stay are; 1-our studios and chalets are stand alone and the greatest private accomodation of its type. 2-there is completely no road noise as you find in greatest accomodation 3-parking is right next door to the chalets and studios 4-the two bedroom chalets are well suited to families. 5-the hotel rooms & operations all operate off &dbquo;solar powered hot water&dbquo; Recently &dbquo;decorated&dbquo; bistro chef marty clarkson leads a little team. We recently scoped the &dbquo;hawkes bay signature dish best service award&dbquo; and was &dbquo;runner up in the casual dish category&dbquo;!! Our well priced, premium local produce impressed the voters and judges. History The westshore hotel has been a resident of westshore beach community for approximately 180 years starting life as mckains villers accommodation house off the spit where a james mckain applied for a bush licence to enable him to sell liquor at the house. The current westshore hotel can trace her roots back to this house whose licence was appeared in the “new munster gazette’ on 22 august 1851. Through various gues and reincarnations as; ahuriri, the ferry, ferryman’s, and latterly the westshore. Its current location can be traced back to a fire in the then named ferry hotel at the spit bridge. The owners of the ferry hotel had to endure a lengthy court battle to keep the licence and to possess the hotel rebuilt. Eventually around 1925 the newish hotel was built at the junction of meeanee quay and embankment road and named the westshore hotel.(inn)
